Description
Pen Kalamkari sarees are a traditional form of hand-painted sarees that originate from the town of Srikalahasti in Andhra Pradesh, India.
This one-of-a-kind tussar silk saree, on a beige colour base, features the traditional flowers done up in multicolour on the body, using natural colours. However, what stands out most in this saree is its pallu, featuring the various scenes from the life of Lord Krishna, spanning from his childhood to his youth. The sky blue blouse fabric, in the same colour as the pallu, contrasts well against the beige saree.
The finesse of the work is testimony to the fact that the artist, a highly skilled female artisan from Srikalahasti, has put her heart and soul into her creation.
