At Vavna, each creation is offered as a singular piece.
Every textile is created to exist only once, allowing each piece to remain as personal and unrepeatable as the story it carries.
Description
Inspired by Rabindranath Tagore’s iconic Bengali primer Sahaj Path, this pure Mul Cotton saree translates its familiar world of people, animals, nature and rural life into handcrafted textile art.
Created using the traditional wax-resist batik technique, molten wax is carefully applied to selected areas of the fabric before dyeing. Capturing detailed figurative forms through this painstaking process requires considerable skill and precision, making every saree distinctive.
Rendered in a striking ivory and black palette, the saree has a bold, illustrative character, while the soft Mul Cotton fabric makes it light, breathable and comfortable to wear.
Paired with a contrast black blouse piece, this is a distinctive saree for those who appreciate Bengali literature, art and handcrafted textiles.
